Lucas had recently been placed in his alternative school and was fairly new to CAAEL.  He had played a few games but hadn’t been chosen by his opposing teammates to get the CAAEL sportsmanship ribbons after any of the games, but he desperately wanted one. Check out his reaction when he finally received his first ribbon.  It’s amazing how a small token like this coming from your peers can make all the difference in the day…..to be validated by others for making positive choices, and displaying great sportsmanship.  It makes kids want to keep coming back for more, and remain eligible each week for the games.  Sportsmanship Ribbon Ceremonies take place after every single CAAEL event.
